I heard your sound Do dil a few days ago and I loved it. it's the first noori song on my ipod ! i kind of liked your music before but this caught my attention. Yes , i have been in love and yes cheezy things start to make sense.
it's a simple & beautiful song about a beautiful emotion and the strong desire to stay with someone you love. how can that possibly not appeal to people.
I say roll a joint , sit back and learn for the love of God ... learn simply to be tolerant. every love song /cheezy thigs/ smooshy things will then make sense.... whether you're in love or not.

best of luck . much love and lots of prayers.

well if u ask me noor still has not written a true love song to date (isn't this one hamza's ? manwa re was someone else's lyrics): noori has however i think touched the lovesong vibe (hum bhoolay and aarzoo sort of touch on the vibe. tum hans diye at least visually went that route. manwa re ?). as much as i hate the crap that is often put around in the name of love, i tend to agree with hamza. a good love song has its place in any band's oeuvre. it humanises them and does add soul and change of pace to any and all sets. and the truly great lovesongs are timeless, more than any call to arms/ revolutionary song can be (part of the reason why Ghalib/ Mir with always trump Faiz/ Jalib in Urdu). check out most leonard cohen songs (he deals with love the best lyrically IMO), Hallelujah for example. Or U2, With or Without You. So Cruel. Coldplay Scientist ? or even any of the soul classics (You've lost that loving feeling, Unchained Melody, Please Please Please, Always on my mind, etc.) these and many others still do resonate. Ain't just marketing that takes these songs to the top of the charts in each decade.

methinks waise the video to Do Dil really raised the song up a level and found ambiguities and ideas in the song that i doubt were originally put in there. made it about many other relationships, about different types of heart to hearts. noor n jafri. noor n hamza, mandy, and all others, which is why now the song really is much deeper than it seems at first listen.

i doubt this is a permanent change of direction which most of you seem to think it is. it is just an emotion or direction that the band wants to explore. let em. a song ultimately is a good song or a bad song regardless of the subject.

moreover, who wants politics and revolution all the time anyways. having said that i do think some of yours point about the timing of the same is valid: i have myself often times screamed that in these most turbulent of times there is - barring shahzad toyboy roy - almost complete silence politically from most musicians. to that extent me guesses the band needs to be taken to task. i have always wondered why Ghalib in the worst of times for muslims in India took to escaping into the most florid and lovely of poetry. noori similarly escaping too me wonders ?
