"Fades Away"….awesome lyrics

I got a comment from one Mr. Fawad sending me a link to a song called “Fades Away”.

I listened to it and really liked it so I thought I’d formally share it with you all. I Love the lyrics…in fact they are too good and so relevant to our times.

This song  reminds of my old days when when all underground bands used to jam at 107B. MM Alam Road.  Salman who has sung the song, used to be with Farhad Humayun’s old band Mind Riot and I can never forget his Rob Halford look!!

….take a listen

LYRICS

seen a warrior’s burst of rage
seen a martyr’s life outgrow his age
seen vile in great men
seen beauty in false women
seen rivals of a genius
seen tyrants hailed among us
seen the envy of a friend
seen love draw its own end

Seen a rainbow fade when it should stay
seen a summer wait for the next may
seen a leave wither from its youth
seen weathers play with our moods

seen a victim plead for his right
seen a culprit with his last lie
seen guilty hands turn to pray
seen aggression overwhelmed by grace

But the world just doesn’t run on grace
In the crowd, you’re just another face
when you’re gone, you dont ever leave a trace

seen faith take hold of our reason
seen wisdom go out of season
seen hatred for a chosen prophet
seen sacrifices with regret

seen ironies turn to the truth
seen lies bearing the fruits
seen impact of just a thought
seen actions ending with naught

But the world just doesn’t run on grace
In the crowd, you’re just another face
when you’re gone, you dont ever leave a trace

seen voices live longer than singers
seen a maestro play with bleeding fingers
seen life in a dead man’s painting
seen victors go down fainting

But the world just doesn’t run on grace
In the crowd, you’re just another face
when you’re gone, you dont ever leave a trace

Like a whistle it fades away (Chorus repeat)

    yes, those are pretty good.

I just discovered your blog, was wondering whatever happened to you and Noori.
I know it’s beating a dead horse but I always wanted to ask you if you’re an atheist or an agnostic; and did the departure of Gumby had anything to do with religious differences?

Sorry I am not commenting on what you wrote, just wanted to send you a message

I have loved noori since I heard your first album, I have like listened to “Dobara Phir se(both versions)” “Dil ki Qasam” like more than 1000 times…honestly!!!
I am one of your biggest fans…but in your second album I felt a little dip, I mean first album was a complete masterpiece, every song was very nice but second album has some not-so-good songs too…and above all you guys didnt use the rock touch much in it…especially the typical pop punk/punk rock style you guys have…Please bring us the old noori back to us with strong, motivational lyrics…BUT Do Dil is a masterpiece!!!! oh my!! I have listened to this songs like tons of time already…you guys rock!! please keep up the good work…Noori Rules!

I am living in Canada now and believe meI will always be your fan!
Once again, bring back the pop punk/punk rock style of songs back in Pakistan…you guys were the pioneers of that sort of rock! you should keep doing that….

    Take care
    Noori is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WOW!! An AWESOME AWESOME SONG!!

hey someone’s said that u guys bring the old noori style back n iguess he’s right… right abt the second album too… in sum songs i felt like the music’s improved and a lot more mature but there also some songs which made me feel that they were just filling up the space to complete the album… come on guys we know u r extremely talented and can make way better songs n we’ll wait long if we hav to but bring back the old energy…
u know what every song in the first album filled such an energy that i felt like bouncing and jumping and bang my head… but the second album makes my heart heavy… i dunno if i’m clear abt wat i mean… but bojhal ho jati hai tabiat…
i guess because the songs in the second album weren’t that old pop punk/punk rock style of songs as someone wrote above…
AND I m craving to listen to keedar ur new song… can’t find it anywhere :(

great song..perhaps a full album might do justice to these vocals and composition..

what about Noori nowadays? you guys are the only solid alternative bands in Pakistan but whats with the low profile..shouldnt you be knocking down the walls and creating some chaos..i think Noori live is due..and grungier than ever…this time pakistanis will digest it all….cheers

Noori is one of the best in asia, no doubt. Standard of music Junoon and Noori created is just beautiful. Both of Noori albums were brilliant. I feel like the second album was heavier and Gumby was a total beast in the second album, a BEAST!

This is absolute brilliant stuff! I like the fact that you’ve not just posted your own songs, but something which is as thoughtful and serene as your songs are!

Anyway, have lately been listening to Kedaar, Aik Alif, and Saari Raat every single day for the last few days! And loved these songs so much that it led me hunt for more of Noori! Keep the great work coming!
